Training your dog

Training your dog is one of the most important things you can do for both the dog and yourself. One type of training that is very effective with housebreaking a dog is ‘Crate Training’.

This involves putting your dog in its crate whenever you are not home and at night. Dogs do not like to make messes where they sleep, so this is ideal for teaching a puppy to go outside – providing you take the puppy outside immediately after taking it out of the crate.

There are many other things that a dog must be trained to do, and not just basic commands such as ’sit’ and ’stay’. Dogs must be socialized with both other dogs and many different people. A well-trained dog is a safe and happy dog.
